Impression silicone

A good print starts with good impression silicone. We have Akouz Light, Medium and Heavy impression silicone, especially made for digital production. The material can be used with the Automix 2, Automix 2-T and Variomix mixing pistol.

Our production department knows the characteristics of these impression materials, so that our custom made products get the optimal fit. When you choose the right impression silicone with the amount of hearing loss and indicate the hearing loss with the order, we will make create the custom made ear mould with the most optimal properties. Our software is tailored to create the best fitting product in combination with the material and amount of hearing loss.

Akouz Light

Impression silicone with a low viscosity and no pressure build-up. Suitable for light hearing loss  ≤ 40 dB. This material has a high wearing comfort and is very suitable for ear moulds requiring less seal.

For CIC and ITE hearing devices, exostosis, microtion, Deep-Fit and pediatric audiology. 33 Shore when cured*.

Akouz Medium

This impression silicone is suitable for medium hearing loss ≥ 40 dB ≤ 70 dB, where a good seal is required. The material is a ‘Rapid’ variant, which means that the impression is cured within 90 seconds. On top of that, the material changes colour from blue to white, indicating when the impression is ready.

For ITE and BTE hearing devices and RIC adaptations (with exception of Deep-Fit, use Light here). 33-38 Shore when cured*.

Akouz Heavy

Suitable for heavy hearing loss ≥ 70 dB and every form of hearing protecion. Akouz Heavy is a ‘Rapid’ variant, which means that the impression is cured within 90 seconds. The material has a high viscosity, builds up pressure and gives a full print for an extra good seal.

For BTE hearing devices and hearing protection. 36-38 Shore when cured*.

A good print is half the work: what do you pay attention to?

This is the most important information in an impression, especially for strong hearing aids and hearing protection. Place the impression pad behoynd the 2nd bend. Make sure the impression material connects seamlessly to the 2nd bend and touches the ear evenly all over.

In combination with the information on the order form the lab technician can determine the length of the helix in the ear mould.

The transition section from the tragus to the helix bridge. This is information the lab technician needs to determine the right position of the nipple.

* during the process of curing, the impression silicone material varies in amount of Shore. The amount of Shore indicated is the amount when the impression is cured.
